Mr. Medina was born in Los Angeles, California. After graduating from Cathedral High School, he enlisted in the United States Army. He was stationed in Baumholder, West Germany. After his Army stint, Mr. Medina attended and graduated summa cum laude from the University of Southern California (USC).
Mr. Medina then joined the ranks of Los Angeles' finest and became a police officer with the Los Angeles Police Department. He eventually attained the rank of sergeant before enrolling in law school. Mr. Medina earned his law degree at the University of California at Los Angeles School of Law (UCLA).
Mr. Medina began his practice in Los Angeles, California handling various civil matters. He eventually began to focus on family law matters and family law soon became his specialty. Mr. Medina is certified by the State Bar of California as a Family Law Specialist. Certification requires extensive education and experience in the field of family law, the passing of a second specialized bar examination, high ethical standards, and a positive peer review by other attorneys and judges.
Mr. Medina represents clients from all walks of life, including business owners, health professionals, police officers, firefighters and teachers. Mr. Medina regularly receives referrals from the Los Angeles County Bar Association, the San Gabriel Valley Bar Association and the Los Angeles Police Protective League.
Mr. Medina practices in all superior courts in the counties of Los Angeles, Orange, and San Bernardino. He recently represented a client in a matter that was decided by the California Court of Appeal and resulted in a published opinion (Guardianship of Ariana K. (2004) 120 Cal. App. 4th 690).
